Before you write

The five questions we get most often.

No. Every film is applied on your phone's GPU, and there is no server that could receive an image. What we do receive is a random install identifier and how many photographs you saved on a given day — that is what the daily free limit is counted from.
How many photographs and clips you save per day: ten. Every film, the video mode and the full camera stay available — the limit is on saving, not on what the camera can do. It resets at midnight on your phone's own clock.
Not yet. Roll36 is Android only today. The film engine is written against Android's camera and GPU stack, so an iOS version is a rewrite of that layer rather than a port — we would rather say "not yet" than take a pre-order for it.
Not from inside the app yet. All 25 ship with it. If you have a look in mind, describe it to [email protected] — warm highlights, crushed shadows, whatever you can see — and it may become one of them.
It should not: the live frame and the saved file go through the same shader chain, which is the whole point of the app. If you have one that does not match, send it to support with your phone model — that is a bug and we want it.
